Angels and Heroes Nurse Program

Recognition, Support and Gratitude.

The Delta Goodrem Foundation’s ‘Angels and Heroes’ Nurse Program is a heartfelt tribute to nurses – the backbone of our healthcare system. Every day, nurses show up with compassion, resilience, and unwavering dedication, supporting patients and families through some of life’s most challenging moments. The program supports vital initiatives that recognise, thank, and invest in St Vincent’s nurses, ensuring they can continue to provide exceptional care and skill when it is needed most. Your donation directly supports these initiatives and helps strengthen nursing care for our communities, now and into the future.

Nurses Gifts of Gratitude

Since 2024, the Delta Goodrem Foundation has supported International Nurses Day, held annually on 12 May, with our Gifts of Gratitude, a small token of thanks recognising the incredible Angels and Heroes who care for us every day.

Launched at St Vincent’s hospitals in Sydney, we’ve already delivered over 5,000 gift packs. In 2026, we’re expanding to reach every nurse across St Vincent’s healthcare and aged care facilities nationwide – that’s more than 10,000 nurses.

You can help us reach this by donating a Gift of Gratitude for just $25 and help make a nurse’s day extra special.

Postgraduate Study Scholarship Funding

The Delta Goodrem Foundation provides scholarship funding for nurses at St Vincent’s to pursue postgraduate studies in specialty clinical areas, including mental health, heart and lung transplant, and cancer nursing. These scholarships are vital to ensure St Vincent’s nurses can continue delivering the highest level of care and expertise their patients deserve.

While some government funding exists, there is often a shortfall of $2,000–$5,000 for a nurse to complete a 12-month program. The Foundation is helping bridge this gap with an annual commitment of $300,000, supporting St Vincent’s nurses nationally to advance their skills and grow their careers.

You can help make this possible by donating today and support our nurses to fly even higher.

Nursing Excellence Awards

Each year on International Nurses Day (12 May), the Delta Goodrem Nursing Excellence Award celebrates extraordinary nurses from across St Vincent’s Health Australia who have gone above and beyond in their every day service.

Through a peer-nominated process, a panel of nursing leaders selects three exceptional nurses from each state, recognising their outstanding dedication, impact on patients, teamwork, and contribution to their facilities. This prestigious award highlights the very best of nursing excellence and inspires others to reach new heights in care.

To date, four remarkable nurses have been honoured with this award, setting the standard for compassion, skill, and leadership in healthcare.

Your support today, helps us ensure our nurses are cared for, recognised and prepared for tomorrow, so they can continue to be there for us and our loved ones during some of our toughest moments.
